Pulled up, early, couldn’t find the valet. Called, went around the block. He came right out. Early, went in for a drink. Cool place. High ceilings, huge window areas over the bar. Cool light sculpture over a performance area. Had a good IPA, Bette a wine. Chellie came, the bartender ignored her, so we went [...] While on a mission in Glen Ellyn, we popped over to Villa Park for an impromptu pre-Saint-Patty-Party with Bette’s cousins, one of which has a boyfriend, Charlie, the proprietor of the Lunar Brewing Company, a small neighborhood bar and microbrewery. The bartender was personable, and cheerfully handed me my two pints of Total Eclipse [...] At the Green Zebra we got a little of everything. Yes, it is loud and expensive, and yes, you may hit White Castle on the way home, but it was all good… We had some beignets. We had two orders of potstickers (Curried Potato Potstickers, cilantro tamarind sauce, fresh coconut) for appetizers. We had roasted [...] Bette and I left Woodstock to pickup Jeff and Susie in Huntley at 4, leaving plenty of time to get downtown. We thought.
